Light-weight with high-strength and radiolucency, carbon fiber is an ideal material for diagnostic, surgical and interventional patient positioning involving x-ray or CT imaging.

CFI’s utilizes a variety of carbon fiber fabrics that are pre-impregnated with epoxy resin to create the ideal binding matrix.  When required, a variety of materials, such as rigid foam, are available as core material.

CFI carbon fiber processing capabilities include:

  • CNC cutting operations for repeatable patterns
  • In house tooling design and build
  • Environmental controlled production area to promote contamination free lay-up
  • Freezer storage for raw material preservation
  • 3.9’ (1.2 meter) x 14’ (4.3 meter) autoclave with programmable cycles and computerized cycle tracking
  • Products designed for steam sterilization
